Mary Ellen Howard, BSN, MA to Speak at the 2016 Michigan Nursing Summit

We're pleased to welcome Mary Ellen Howard, BSN, MA of Cabrini Clinic and Detroit People’s Water Board Coalition for the second day of the 2016 Michigan Nursing Summit, September 29-30. Howard will be part of a Couch Conversation with Michigan Community Based Nurse Exemplars.

Mary Ellen Howard is a native Detroiter, a Sister of Mercy, and a nurse.
She earned her BSN at Mercy College of Detroit, and her Masters in Health Care Management from the University of Wisconsin. For 25 years Mary Ellen served as a nurse and health care administrator in Mercy hospitals across Michigan, including as CEO in Grayling and Muskegon. For 20 years, she was Executive Director of St. Frances Cabrini Clinic, the nation’s oldest free clinic. Since retiring in 2014, Mary Ellen is an active advocate on the local, state and national levels for public health issues, including access to safe, affordable water for all.

The panel will be led by Phyllis Meadows, PhD, MSN, RN.
