Mary Free Bed Guild Disability Scholarship Application for Annual Scholarship Program

The Mary Free Bed Guild has established annual scholarships for students with disabilities pursuing a post-secondary degree. An individual is eligible to apply for a one-year scholarship for education-related expenses if he or she meets the established criteria. The scholarship amounts will vary depending on individual needs. Application deadline: April 1

Eligibility Requirements:

  •  Must possess a diagnosed physical disability related to a brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, limb difference or overcoming any other serious acquired or congenital neurological condition treatable through rehabilitation
  •  Must be able to competitively apply oneself in the desired field of study, potentially with reasonable accommodations
  •  Student currently enrolled in, or accepted into an accredited college or university as at least a half-time status. (Half time as determined by your school)
  •  Demonstrates a commitment to serving diverse populations
  •  Demonstrates leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other volunteer activities
  •  Must be a permanent resident in one of the following counties: Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Muskegon, Montcalm, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun
  •  Cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale (overall and in the chosen area of study)
  •  Citizen of the United States
